Quit Complaining About Air Quality
3 years agoI’m getting tired of hearing all these experts discussinghow poor the air quality is in China and that it will make the American athletes suffer, e.g., less records broken. I have yet to hear one athlete from any country complain about the air quality, they complain more about the food and 3 Hs; hazy, hot and humid.
Some people are using the air quality, as well as the incident that happened to some American tourists, as reasons why the Olympics should be in the U.S. Anybody else notice that the U.S. major cities have high numbers of youths with breathing and asthma problems. NYC and LA, cities in Texas and Florida, etc., all have issues with pollution, and these cities are “greener” than Beijing. Also, anybody remember:
The Centennial Olympic Park bombing of July 27, 1996, killed spectator Alice Hawthorne and wounded 111 others, and elicited the death of Melih Uzunyol by heart attack.
Also, if you’re as good as you claim to be, shouldn’t you be able to win regardless of most conditions without enhancements, i.e., air quality, performance enhancing drugs and special clothing. These are GAMES, not scientific research, the longest broadcasting commercial, a political rally, and humanitarian mission.
China does have problems but, the U.S. has just as many problems.
